The sensor AF26 is a dual channel absorption sensor designed for inline applications. It accurately measures color or color changes and can be used in a variety of industrial processes, from sanitary SIP/CIP applications to high-temperature, high-pressure industrial applications.
The absorption sensor uses light in a range from 385 nm to 1000 nm at selected wavelengths. A precisely defined, constant light beam penetrates the process medium. The light beam is divided into 2 beams and passes through 2 specific interference filters at the application-dependent wavelengths.
The attenuation of the light intensity, caused by absorption or/and scattering of the dissolved and undissolved substances, is detected by 2 hermetically-sealed silicon photo diodes. This dual channel absorption technology compensates for turbidity in the process stream and even the smallest presence of color can be also measured.
The single crystal sapphire optical window provides superior resistance to all corrosive and abrasive media. The absorption sensor AF26 comes with a broad variety of line sizes, process connections and wetted materials and can be easily adapted to the process. NIST-traceable validation accessories guarantee reliable testing of the sensor performance. Options for hazardous area classification also are available.
